Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the client back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability.

​It utilises the principles of sport and exercise science incorporating physiological and pathological processes to prepare the client for training, competition and where applicable, work.

Rehab Programmes

Sport Rehabilitation Programmes help people suffering from pain, injury or illness involving the musculoskeletal system.

​Rehab programmes can include pain management, maintaining flexibility & strength and avoiding further aggravation to an injury. After an initial consultation a programme will be devised allowing a safe and steady return to fitness or an improvement in previous fitness levels.

Kinesio Taping

Kenisio taping is a rehabilitative taping technique designed to facilitate the body's natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body's range of motion.

Taping works by lifting the skin from the tissues below it, causing compression or decompression of these areas, allowing an alteration in pain signals to the brain. The tapes elasticity allows more or less tension on the muscles. Kinesio taping can be used for a number of different things including muscle inhibition/facilitation, pain relief, decreasing swelling, tissue decompression and providing stability while still allowing for motion.

Sports Massage

Often an increase or change in exercise can cause niggles, pain or spasms, and if left untreated one 'tight' muscle can lead to an imbalance in your body having a knock on effect as you try to compensate for the imbalance or pain.

​Massages can also be performed before exercise, potentially leading to an enhancement in a persons performance. Included in a rehabilitation programme sports massages can aid recovery from injury and may also help to prevent further injury.
